So I'm back...camp was actually nice, it was a cool job to have. There was also another counselor there who was really really really hot and I hooked up with him, which always makes a summer job better. I've decided that I'm not really a kid person, and it's refreshing not to have to look after small children whose every step is potential for danger (pretty much what the orientation said...it was like "don't let them do this, or this, or this, if -insert emergency here- happens then DO THIS and if this happens DO THAT and...have fun!" But it was cool, being outdoors and all of that.

But I did have a chance to read Breaking Dawn! And was mocked by one of the other counselors staying in my cabin, Sara, who was all like "dude. My twelve year old sister reads these books. wtf?" But here are my thoughts on the UTTER CRAZINESS.


There might be a more coherent post later. All in all, I thought it was the most crack-tastic book yet, which you can interpret as good or bad. I'M ROOTING FOR A NESSIE BOOK JUST TO SEE THE FANDOM EXPLODE AGAIN

So I'm going to leave tomorrow - I doubt that I'll have internet access, since it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. On weekends I might be able to go into town with the other counselors, but it would be at least an hour, an hour and a half away, so I dunno. I'll miss you all, and try to get caught up with what's going on in your lives come the third week of August when I get back!

Wow. I'm done. This was super super super fun to write, it made me appreciate certain characters a lot more...and I'm so grateful for all of you guys who read and reviewed. Chapter seven should be coming tomorrow; I already have the bulk of it written, I just need to send it to my beta and do a little bit of editing myself. This chapter was...not fun to write, I still think that it's necessary (giving Leah back some of her humanity and showing the huge, gaping vulnerabilities that she hides) and setting up chapter seven, and I like playing on the parallelism between Leah and Jacob, but meh.

Okay. I do think that Leah can – and I hope she will – change. This definitely doesn’t mean she'll lose her snarky and awesome Leah-ness…but since this fic is all about growth, that is the ending that I want to work towards. My challenge is going to do this while still keeping her in character. Plus, that would be post!Eclipse, so...until Breaking Dawn comes out, I'm not going against canon.

The wolf!sex speculation part is due to silken_star and my conversation about "what happens if you get pregnant as a werewolf"...just to demonstrate all the CRAZY werewolf potential that SMeyer won't explore, so the fandom has to :P

Personally, I would think that morphing into a werewolf is pretty damn painful, since your organs are LITERALLY CHANGING inside you. It's like...having your whole body stretched and shrunk, even if it only is in the span of a second. But SMeyer says it’s painless, so I guess I'll go with that.

So my brother Dante (yes, as in The Divine Comedy...what can I say, my mom is weird that way) just got his driver's license. WEIRD. I mean, yes he's 16 but I still never really pictured this happening.

Finding a layout that a) makes entries readable and b) looks nice is very difficult when you have ads all over the place.

Grrr, LJ. I am not pleased.

I know that a lot of you have said things about imprinting and how basically it's a cop-out - and I was surfing some Twilight communities and I found this essay, by freeing_pan, that essentially takes all the problems I have with imprinting and states them in an eloquent, expressive way. Even if you don't mind imprinting, I'd recommend you read it - it's very well-written and deals with a lot of the themes in the books.
